These remedies are free to use, as long as you give credit to the author.
Some of the mixtures require you to combine the following ingredients to form a paste. The preparations for the skin are intended to be left on the skin for 15 - 30 mins, unless otherwise stated, depending on skin type, rinse off with cold water to close the skin pores. NOTE: While we do take extreme care with any of our ingredients, if you decide to use any of the following preparations on the skin, please take caution as reactions can happen, but fortunately have not been heard of.
Natural Skin Care
Apple pulp, oatmeal and witch-hazel: tones and cleanses the skin.Apple: use for all types of skin it softens and acts as an astringent and regenerates cells.
Apricots 1 cp pureed 1 tbsp honey 1/2 cp mineral water: adds a refreshing tingle to stimulate skin and thus refine and contains essential oils, emolients and vitamin A.
Banana, carrot juice and lecithin: nourishes the skin, helps repair.
Banana and Honey: spotty skin.
Brewer's Yeast, carrot juice and cream: deep cleanses and nourishes.
Buttermilk, egg white (halal) and lime juice: oily, sallow skin.
Calendula: add to creams and lotions to sooth and heal.
Cucumber slices: on acne and plagued areas, apply up to 3x daily.
Dandelion soaked in honey: spotty skin.
Egg, 2 tbsp sesame oil, 2 tbsp honey: apply to around eye area to help erase eye lines.
Eucalyptus: invigorating properties.
Grape juice: the tart elements of grapes penetrates skin pores and promotes cleansing with cellular regeneration.
Honey 1/2 tsp and 1/2 cp cucumber pulp in blend: skin responds with radiant glow.
Lemon: cut into half and rub over skin after bath to close pores.
Lemon, orange, apple, cucumber, and yoghurt: softens and tones.
Milk: use for puffy eyes, apply with cotton wool, rinse off with cool water, milk is also a refining cleanser.
Olive and apricot oils: use for tired looking skin, to enrich, nourish and heal.
Parsley and yogurt: oily skin.
Peach, honey and mayonaise (halal): nourishes and softens tired looking skin.
Pinapple juice 1/2 cp: apply with cottonwool to blemished areas and rinse, repeat 2x daily. The enzymes remove dead skin cells and improves tissue regeneration.
Plum and brewer's yeast: deep cleansing.
Sesame oil 1 tbsp, 1 dsp oats, 1 tbsp honey: to help tame facial lines.
Strawberries: apply to blemishes, high enzyme content in this fruit.
Tahini (seasame seed paste) and lime juice: nourishes.
Tomato, grapefruit juice and egg-white (halal): oily skin.
Watermelon: press on face in tea towel, up to 7x daily, cleanses pores and helps quench thirsty cells beneath surface and protects against wrinkles.
Wheatgerm flakes (or flour) and sour cream: nourishes.
===Dry Skin Remedies===
Advocado half, 1tsp fresh tomato juice, 1tbsp lemon juice: The Mexicans have been known to use advocados to prevent their skin prematurely drying out from the sun.
Almond meal: mayonnaise (halal) and banana - very dry skin.
Almond meal and milk: for relief of dry skin problems.
Cucumber and egg white(halal): oily skin.
Blackberry and honey: dry flaky skin.
Flour 2 tbsp, 2 tbsp clear honey, 2 - 3 tbsp milk: for all skin types to refine and soften complexions that have been roughened from the sun.
Honey and orange juice: honey removes dead cells and impurities from below surface of skin, useful for dry, rough skin.
Oatmeal: mix with water to a smooth paste - for tired skin to remove dry flakes, soothing and healing has softening properties.
Papaya, banana and butter: peels off dry coarse skin (caution leave on 5 minutes only).
Pear and banana: for dry skin.
===Natural Hair Care===
Nettles: make strong infusion with 4 fl ozs apple cider vinegar, massage into scalp morning and night until dandruff goes.
Parsley: rich in vit c, excellent rinse for dark hair and antidote for dandruff.
Sage: use strong brew to darken hair, use for skin as deodorant and an astringent to close pores and refresh tissues.
===Other Care===
Lovage: use in aromatic bath, to cleanse and deodorise.
Mustard: use powdered seeds in foot bath for heat.
Nasturtium: infusion of leaves added to steam facials.
Olive oil: dip face towel in warm oil and wrap around throat, rinse off residue, this moisturizes and removes toxic wastes, protects against wrinkles.
Peppermint: makes a cooling cologne.
Pine needles: crush and add to herbal pillows and in bath bags for stimulating circulation, .
Thyme: deodorant and antiseptic properties.
